Budget > Controlling Discretionary Spending
Try to make dining out a treat instead of a
regular occurrence. Try to limit the number of occasions that you dine out.
Assign one night of each week to dine out (maybe Friday). This will give you
and the family something to look forward to. When going out to eat, look for
reasonably priced restaurants. Dining out for lunch is convenient but
expensive, so try to set a weekly limit. If you live close to work, you can go
home for lunch. If not, you may be able to bring lunch to work. Bringing snacks
to work can help avoid purchasing from vending machines and snack stands.
